Involve, feature, include. These are useful words for describing something as part of something else, like the individual events making up a program of entertainment
or training, the specific people making up a group, or taking part in an event, or some interesting bits of information to be found in a reference book.
The summer work experience will INCLUDE an Introduction to Steel Production course, which will INVOLVE some plant tours. The children's entertainment program INCLUDES
discotheques, but also FEATURES autograph sessions with ice-hockey players. The grand opening of the project INVOLVES Company managers and Government representatives. The five bear cubs FEATURE in
the Guinness Book of Records. "Include" indicates a simple relationship between the whole and the parts.
"Involve" indicates a closer relationship, that the part is really integrated into the whole. "Feature" indicates that this part is very special or surprising, and
makes the whole more attractive.
