"Zajac" is often translated into English as "rabbit", but to be precise rabbit is really "králik", and "zajac" is a hare. Wild rabbits live together in large colonies
called warrens (what former President Havel deigned to call the high-rise neighborhoods where a lot of people live in this country, while he was larging it in his country villa), whereas hares live
in solitary pairs in hollows in the ground called "sets".
Rabbits have shorter ears and back legs, and they are commonly domesticated (people keep them in hutches in their back yards), whereas hares have long ears and back
legs and are usually seen bounding away freely across the countryside, flashing their white tails. Interestingly, there is a British philosopher called Richard Hare who defends utilitarian
principles, which are essentially that what is useful is good, and smaller interests have to give way to greater interests, to bring the greatest good to the greatest number of people. Health
service reform, or what?
