Time. There are several different references to time in this week's extracts, and the main thing is to recognize whether the meaning is time like "čas" or like "raz". Spotting fire risks "in time" means "včas", i.e. well before any fire can start. A related expression is "on time", which means "načas", i.e. exactly at the right time, punctually. The safety video "takes a few minutes", i.e. it takes (needs, requires) only a short time to achieve its objective. William Biama took only 2 hours, 9 minutes and 53 seconds to finish the Marathon, which is a new record time.

Journeys (or maybe meetings) "take time" in the sense of "vziať" or "obrať", when we want them to be over quickly. These are all examples of time like "čas". The meaning of "raz" appears in expressions like "for the first time", and in questions like "How many times?". Another word related to time is "term", which always means "doba" in English, so "long-term" means "dlhodobé". For "termín" say "date".
