Spoilt for choice this week - but let's focus on the euro extract. It looks like the question about how to use the name of this currency is going to be answered by non-native English speakers, because people in Britain are going to go on using pounds and Americans dollars for the foreseeable future.

The question is: "euro" or "euros"? I suppose the English pronunciation should be /júrou/ or /júrouz/. Maybe the plural form "euros" will be used informally when people talk about the prices of things, or the money in their pockets, like talking about coins or bills (banknotes in British English). But a lot of British people don't use the "-s" plural form; they might be paid "fifteen pound" an hour, and are shocked when a pint costs "three pound twenty". They use the slang word "quid" for "pound" in the same way. In America, though, dollars are bucks, always said with the plural "-s" as far as I know. Maybe the best thing is to cough on the plural and just say "euro" for everything.
