About the company
           

RMS, a.s. Košice was established in 1992. The company has established quality management system according
to EN ISO 9001:2009, EN ISO 14001:2005, OHSAS 18001:2009.

 

 

 

The company is engaged in the following activities:

  • repair and vulcanization of conveyer belts for organizational units of U. S. Steel Košice, s.r.o.;
     
  • cold waterproofing of barrels and vulcanization of conveyer belts also for external customers or customers outside the territory of U. S. Steel;
     
  • pig-iron casting;
     
  • inspection of molten-iron pans and mobile mixers;
  • drifting of iron-pan branches;
     
  • production of materials for the blast furnaces division of U. S. Steel;
     
  • discharging of materials and painting work;
     
  • repair of blast furnace (BF) brickwork and conduits;
     
  • bricking-up of pig-ironpans;
     
  • grouting and spraying work;
  • processing of BF slag into granular slag (granulate) used in production of cement and cavity slag (pumice) used in building work;
     
  • processing of BF slag into artificial solid aggregate in various fractions used for various building purposes, road bodies and railtrack beds. This remedies the shortage of natural aggregate;
  • extraction and recycling of Dry Heap body through sorting of acquired components for further processing,
     
  • repair and maintenance of cranes at the blast furnaces of U. S. Steel;
     
  • repair of ventilation devices;
     
  • electrical device maintenance;
     
  • welding of slag pots.

It performs continuous repairs on:

• its own and leased technological production units
• camber sections
• granulation stands
• lifting devices (cranes and crane railways)
• heavy mechanisms and machines used in the processing of liquid blast-furnace slag

It produces progressive shaped and non-shaped refractory materials:

  • Fire clay and acid shaped products
  • High alumina shaped products
  • Insulation shaped fire clay products
  • Alumino-silicate non shaped products, plastic mass, ramming mass, gunning mass, injecting and binding mass
  • Burned magnesia and magnesia spinel products

 

  • Unburned magnesia-carbon products
  • Basic non shaped products
  • Unburned alumino-magnesia-carbon products
  • Precasts from non shaped materials
  • Decoration and building fire clays, precast fire places and hearths

i.e. our laboratory results are recognized within Slovakia as well as abroad.
