STRUCTURAL AND CORROSION RESISTANT STEELS

Applications

I. Cold rolled sheets made of low carbon non-alloyed structural steel are used for the production of flat or cold-formed structural elements. Their application is determined by the minimum value of the yield point, or by the tensile strength.

II. Cold rolled sheets made of fine-grained, atmospheric corrosion
resistant structural steel are mostly used in the building industry and for various constructions. Improved resistance is due to the surface layer of oxides of alloying elements.

U. S. Steel Košice has implemented and maintains a quality control
system in accordance with the standard EN ISO 9001,as well as in
accordance with IATF 16949 for the automotive industry, issued by TÜV SÜD. A part of production is certified in accordance with the European Parliament Regulation 97/23/EC, AD2000W1 and by the Ü mark for steels used in German civil engineering.

Grades

Cold rolled products are classified into quality grades according to their chemical composition and mechanic properties.
