Kosice, June 13, 2005 - Today, the 5th year of U. S. Steel Talent Night - competition in own creation focused upon looking up and support of talented young people started. Within the first selection round devoted to the dance, the Jumbo Center Kosice was occupied with residents of Eastern Slovakia with talent for movement early in the morning. Singers will appear before the jury tomorrow, and from Wednesday to Friday, the podium will belong to the most occupied category - music groups.

In total, 148 competitors sent their applications for the 5th year of U. S. Steel Talent Night. The conditions were met by 116 applications, which were included into selection rounds. Applicants are of the age from 15 to 25 years, they come from Eastern Slovakia, and they registered 3 songs or choreography of own creation. In individual categories, 39 dancing companies and individuals, 37 singers and 40 music groups will appear in castings. This year, performances of competitors will be assessed by Jan Ďurovcik, Peter Riava, Igor Timko, Marian Cekovsky and music producers Oskar Rózsa, Henry Tóth, Maros Kachut and others.

U. S. Steel Kosice, which supports not only the economic development of Eastern Slovakia Region, is the main organizer of this competition. The support of talented young people is one of priorities of this company, which is also witnessed by the 5th year of the project. The U. S. Steel Talent Night competition is of regional nature, and since its origin in 2001, it has been intended only for participants from the Kosice and Presov Regions, respectively. The winners of the competition are obtaining prizes, which help them in their further artistic activity.

Access to selection rounds is free of charge, and the wide public is welcomed.
