"Wishing Tree" hopes are fulfilled
On the initiative of the USSK President's wife Susan Lohr, from November 21st to December 2nd four "Wishing Trees" were set up around the U. S. Steel
Kosice premises, hung with small cards bearing the particular wishes of children from specific children's homes in the East Slovakian region. This project met with considerable interest among the
employees of U. S. Steel Kosice and its subsidiary companies. In the two designated collection points, the Public Affairs building and the "Autumn of Life" civic association senior
citizens' club, new presents accumulated day by day - toys, books and clothes brought in by the employees of USSK and its subsidiaries.
Many of them returned several times bringing extra presents for the children living in the homes. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of last week the gifts were
taken personally by Susan Lohr to the Crisis Center on Adlerova Street in Kosice and to the children's homes in Cana, Ždana, Stós, Mlynky Biele Vody, Spissky Stiavnik, Velke Kapusany and
Michalovce. Reports from her visits to these homes are presented in today's issue of Ocel Vychodu. Susan Lohr also expressed her gratitude to all those who contributed gifts for the children in
