No injury for 365 days
At an informal lunch on July 17, George Babcoke and Matt Perkins met managers from the Pipe and Radiator Division at USSK to congratulate them on working with no injury for more than one year. This division is the second at USSK to reach this positive result this year. What is more, part of the Secondary Metallurgical Division is the Radiator Plant where more than 250 employees have not seen any injury since April 2005! The biggest improvement has been made in the pipes shipment area. All the managers were asked by George and Matt to pass on the congratulation to every other employee in their workshops, because as we say, safety is personal responsibility, but such achievement is the success of each employee. The informal lunch format, seems to be the right place not only to celebrate but also to exchange and collect new ideas and improvements. This group around George and Matt on the first page of the company paper holding the logo Safety 1st will remind all of colleagues that the goal Zero Injuries is achievable.
