Steel Kosice President David J. Rintoul, Vice Presidents Martin Pitorak, Mark Tabler and Elena Petraskova, OZ KOVO U. S. Helping children with their learning
On the initiative of USSK President's wife Mary Rintoul and Vice President Management Services and Administration Elena Petraskova, since November of last year steelmakers have been helping the children in the Uralska Street Foster Home in Kosice with their learning. Usually on Wednesday afternoons they tackle English together with Mary Rintoul, Janice Tabler, Marla Shuttlesworth and Brandy Faulkrod, and on Thursday afternoons it's the turn of Dana Petrouski, Ann Demay, Melissa Matrazzo and Sandy Napoli to visit the children. If they need extra lessons in Slovak, physics, chemistry, biology or mathematics, members of the Women's Network Viera Hvozdikova, Petra Kralova or Lucia Hrabcakova come in to help.
Dispatch hall gets automatic doors
Since last yaer the dispatch hall of the Tin Mill in the Shipping Division has been using three vertically-moving automatic doors. Automation of the opening and closing of these doors means they do not need to be attended, and they better maintain the temperature and thus also the comfort of the employees in the hall, especially during the winter months.
