Top-of-the-range USG machine for patients in the University Children's Hospital in Kosice

On April 29 of this year U. S. Steel Kosice President George F. Babcoke, his wife Kathleen, USSK General Manager Procurement Martina Kapralova and Public Affairs Director Jan Baca representing the thousands of Kosice steelmakers presented the team of doctors at the University Children's Hospital in Kosice with a top-of-the-range, new generation ultrasonograph machine. This was a joint gift, because in last year's pre-Christmas fundraising the Company employees donated a sum of money which was then matched by a contribution from the U. S. Steel Kosice Foundation. For the first time the funds were not transferred to the recipient's account, so that they could acquire the machine themselves, but the whole purchasing process was managed in record time by USSK Procurement Department. They managed it so outstandingly in fact that the funds collected were also made to cover the purchase of 45 computers and three printers, which were also presented to the hospital.
