The results of the competition to find the Top Quality Managers of the Year 2018 were announced by the Office for Normalization, Metrology and Testing in the Slovak Republic at an official event which took place in the historical building of the National Council SR in Bratislava on November 20 of this year. In category A – Private Sector the award for Top Quality Manager 2018 went to our colleague, QMS Manager Radomír Chovanec, who is responsible at U. S. Steel Košice for the methodology and management of projects focusing on developing the effectiveness of the QM system, directing internal, procedural and product quality audits, as well as carrying out customer and supplier audits. Just recently Radomír Chovanec, with twenty-five years of experience in working at the steelworks, took the credit for proposing the manner of implementing the preparation for the recertification audit for compliance with the ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 standards, as well as sharing in a whole range of other activities connected with management systems at USSK, including last year's work towards creating and implementing software for risk and opportunity management.
