President thanks both employees an the people of Kosice
Kosice, December 1st 2006 - Christmas in Kosice this year will be exceptional for U. S. Steel. For the first time the company will be sharing in the
atmosphere of the coming holidays with their own booth in the center of town on Hlavna street. The management of the firm has decided upon a stand during the traditional Christmas market as a way
to thank their employees and the people of Kosice. During recent weeks U. S. Steel has for the second time been named by the economic weekly Trend as Firm of the year. Marked
improvement in the area of work safety was awarded with the Safety prize by the international company DuPont.
"We know who stands behind these successes and the good name of the company. These are the results of daily work and responsibility of our employees, as well
as the support of all the local residents, our thanks and acknowledgement goes to them," says company president of U. S. Steel David Lohr. And the firm plans to send the
message by means of its stand, which the president plans to ceremoniously open on December 5th at 17:30, the first day of Kosice Christmas. Employees will find inside a small gift with a little
chocolate horseshoe for good luck. Prepared for everyone is a Christmas postcard with a message of thanks and a New Year`s wish from the president of U. S. Steel Kosice. At the location
it will also be possible to get information on current projects intended to support the region. The U. S. Steel stand will also serve for presenting non-profit organizations which the
firm supports. This will favor orphanages, art schools, the Children`s hospital in Kosice and various other charitable organizations. For a nominal contribution visitors will be offered
postcards, children`s drawings and varied Christmas decorations of our own. Proceeds from their sale shall go to the development of these organizations.
The U. S. Steel booth will be open every day from the 6th to 23rd of December during the hours 9:00 - 21:00.
