United States Steel Corporation (“U. S. Steel”) was featured in Newsweek’s Most Loved Workplaces® list for the second year in a row, ranking 71st among the top 100 companies recognized for employee happiness and satisfaction at work in 2022.

“We are honored to appear on this prestigious list for the second consecutive year. We strive daily to be a company that promotes safety, collaboration, and inclusion so we can create an environment that is Best for All®,” said U. S. Steel President and CEO David B. Burritt. “We continue to respond to the needs of our employees with inclusive benefits, resources, and a commitment to 360° safety, which recognizes the importance of both physical and emotional wellbeing. As a result, we have been able to attract and retain talented men and women who are instrumental in helping us pursue our mission of profitable steel solutions for people and planet.”

Produced in collaboration with the Best Practice Institute (BPI), a leadership and organization

development and benchmark research company, the results were determined after surveying more than 1.4 million employees from businesses with workforces varying in size from 50 to more than 10,000. The list recognizes companies that put respect, caring, and appreciation for their employees at the center of their business model and, in doing so, have earned the loyalty and respect of the people who work for them.

“As a result of ‘The Great Resignation,’ more companies recognize the importance of focusing on employee satisfaction to not only attract but retain top talent,” said Nancy Cooper, Global Editor in Chief, Newsweek. “The businesses on this year’s list clearly demonstrated that commitment.”

U. S. Steel has been recognized by leading organizations for efforts to build an inclusive, diverse workplace.

  • For three years in a row, U. S. Steel has received a 100% score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index, earning the “Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality” designation.
