The culmination of U. S. Steel Košice's year-round philanthropic activity is the Christmas Charity Concert, and this year's event took place on December 13 in the historic building of the Košice State Theater. The aims of the concert include drawing attention not only to the support which the Company and its employees provide to foster homes, centers for children and families, and the families of colleagues in straitened circumstances, but also to the contribution and benefits of corporate volunteering. A traditional part of the concert is the announcement of the proceeds from the voluntary fundraising among the employees of the Košice steelworks, with a total of 24 028 euros dedicated this year to the Urology Clinic of the Louis Pasteur University Hospital in Košice. The U. S. Steel Košice Foundation provided 60 thousand euros for the purchase of necessary equipment by the Clinic, and a spontaneous donation of 25 thousand euros for the victims of the gas explosion in Prešov.
