On Wednesday, June 15, a one-day TCO Kaizen Workshop with IMET took place at our Company. The event was organized by colleagues from Procurement USSK and it was aimed at common generation of new ideas focused on total cost reduction and profitability increase. The following issues were discussed: suitability for use of current materials and proposal for new options, material consumption efficiency, extension of spare part replacement cycles, and spare part repair or renovations. The workshop was preceded by detailed preparation and data analysis. In addition to the IMET Company representatives and purchasers, the workshop was also attended by specialists from all divisions and the Maintenance Reliability Department as well as colleagues from the Carnegie Way Transformation Team and Controlling.
IMET is a long-term and reliable business partner of U. S. Steel Košice; our cooperation dates back to the 1990s. It provides for drawing spare parts, spare parts from original producers, bearings, rollers, railway superstructure and sleepers. IMET has long international experience in the area of spare parts for the steel industry.
