For four days last week, May 6 through 9, a foursome of auditors from the certification company TÜV SÜD Slovakia, namely Tadeáš Kurilovský, Pavel Chovanec, Pavel Horník a Tibor Molnár, subjected U. S. Steel Košice to a supervisory audit focusing on fulfillment of the requirements of the IATF 16949 standard for suppliers to the automotive industry, as well as the ISO 9001:2015 quality management standard.
The findings of these external auditors were presented last Thursday, May 9, in USSK’s main auditorium to the Company’s top management led by the President of the Košice steelworks Jim Bruno and other managers from the divisional plants and company administration departments. The concluding report contained several plaudits, and the auditors did not register any serious deviations from the standards, but just recommended a few measures for improving the quality process.
