USSE Research is forty years old

To mark the occasion of the fortieth anniversary of the commencement of research at the Kosice steelworks, USSE Research recently put on a very interesting event. The Open Day which they organized last Friday, October 10th, attracted dozens of curious visitors who wanted to find out something more about the researchers' work. They were able to take a look at their specialist workshops and modern laboratories, and they learned some intriguing facts about the work of the research and development team. The level of fascination was high.
Family members came, as well as former employees, colleagues from other scientific research centers, and students. They were most interested in the guided tour round the metallography lab and the steelmaking and rolling workshops. The program was enhanced with films presenting the life and work of the researchers and the company U. S. Steel Kosice, archive photographs and written documents tracing the forty-year history of the organization. All the visitors admired the modern instruments which the facilities are equipped with, and the highly technical skills of the research team.
