Approaching customers with a new trade mark

U. S. Steel Kosice recently extended the portfolio of its own registered trade marks. Registration with the Office for Industrial Property of the Slovak Republic as well as with the International Office of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva has given us exclusive entitlement to use the combined registered trade mark U. S. Steel Europe in connection with the goods it has been registered for, in the following countries: Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Bulgaria, France, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Serbia, Switzerland, Turkey and Great Britain. On the international level this trade mark became effective on the day the application was filed, i.e. February 9, 2011, and in Slovakia it came into effect from August of this year. The new addition extends the family of trade marks in Slovakia which customers use to identify our products. These include KORAD, KOHAL, KODUR and KOSMALT.

Students' summer internship ends today

Today sees the end of their two-month summer internship at U. S. Steel Kosice for more than forty university students. They greatly appreciate the experience they have gained by working in production operations and in specialist departments, as well as the skills they have acquired in the management training sessions. They made good use of all of these on Friday morning of last week, August 26, in the presentations of their case study reports. This session at the close of the internship was prepared, as has become customary, by the section of Vice President Human resources, this time in cooperation with subsidiary OBAL-SERVIS, a.s. Kosice. The students, divided into seven teams, thus tackled issues requiring solutions in a real company. That evening the internship participants met members of the Company management at the Training Center in Medzev.
