In Banska Stiavnica eight Kosice steel workers received awards
On September 11, 2015 the old-time town Banska Stiavnica was the venue of all- Slovak celebrations of the Miners´, Geologists´, Metallurgists' and Oilers' Day, as well as the traditional Salamander parade. The representatives of U. S. Steel Kosice, led by the Company´s President Scott D. Buckiso took part in the ceremonial gathering and opening ceremony of the professional feast in the Culture center that was attended also by the President of SR Andrej Kiska. During the ceremony eight metallurgists were honored. The Minister badge of honor for work loyalty was awarded to Stefan Koloda from the daughter company OBAL-SERVIS, a.s. Kosice, Verner Krompassky from the Hot Rolling mill division, Helena Lackova from the Coated Products and Tin Mill division, Vladimir Pajzinka from the Steel shop division, Jozef Pavlovic from the daughter company RMS, a.s. Kosice, Jaroslav Pinko from the Mechanics division and Peter Seliga from the Transportation division. The Minister of economy badge of honor titled Exemplary rescuer was awarded to Andrej Bezeg from the Plant Fire department.
Employees' Satisfaction Survey launched
Yesterday, September 16, 2015 was the first day of the anonymous employees' satisfaction survey. Its purpose is to obtain current feedback, opinions and attitudes from all employees and compare survey findings with the results of the survey from two years ago. Following the last survey the response plan was developed with tasks focused on increasing the overall company effectiveness that were successfully completed. Similar response plan will be developed also following this year's survey that is scheduled to last until October 16, 2015.
USSK Company Day at the trade fair in Brno
This week, September 14 through 18, the International engineering trade fair 2015 takes place in Brno. It is attended by more than 1,500 exhibitors worldwide operating not only in the machine industry, but also electro technical industry and metallurgical companies are also present among the exhibiting companies. The company U. S. Steel Kosice has similarly, as last year, organized the co called Company Day for its customers on the first fair day. During this social event, that was attended by the Company´s President Scott Buckiso and colleagues from the Commercial section led by the Vice-President Christian Korn, 130 representatives of our business partners were present mainly from the Czech Republic, and also from other countries. Among them there were leading automotive, tin or white technique producers, joined by service centers representatives and various distributors. The social event took place in the atmosphere of talks and discussions with our customers who highly positively value this event. Company Day is namely an excellent opportunity for reinforcement of business relations.
Summer Sports Days USSK 2015 are over
From September 3 till 5 the jubilee 25th edition of the Summer Sports Days of U. S. Steel Kosice employees took place. 861 racers competing in single and team categories in diverse sports were involved in competitions for the best ranking - bowling, badminton, table tennis, tennis, 10 km run, chess, softball, cycling, volleyball, leg ball, in line skating and golf.
