Week of Ethics and Maintaining Principles
As in every year, during September of this year as well our Company together with all the other plants in the United States Steel Corporation is joining in a Week of Ethics and Maintaining Principles. From September 22 to 26 in various ways we will be recalling our joint commitment: To Do What Is Right. At the same time throughout the Corporation several employees who set an example of strong moral character through their behavior and firm morale will be awarded the title of Champion of Ethics and Maintaining Principles.

At the end of August, Dresden in Germany was the venue for the prestigious International Conference on Textures of Materials or ICOTOM17. This event, which is concerned with issues of structure and texture of materials, especially rolled and cast metals, has a great reputation in the world, and is organized at three-year intervals on various continents. The conference provides opportunities for meetings and discussions between representatives of the academic community as well as specialists from various branches of industry with many years of practical experience. The latest, 17th edition saw almost 300 guests taking part, including two from U. S. Steel Kosice. Our Company was represented by R&D specialists Martin Cernik and Peter Vranec from the Department of the General Manager for Research and Development USSE. They contributed to the quality of the conference with presentations focusing on our canning sheets.
