We do business in line with ethical rules
Effective today, October 1st, according to information from USSK General Counsel C. James Bond, our Company is starting the process of annual certification of the Code of Ethical Conduct and Principles USSK 2014. Incorporated in U. S. Steel Kosice's commitment to carry out its business in line with ethical principles is the rule that all employees are obliged to undergo annual certification. As in previous years, we are all required this year as well to confirm that we maintain and will persist in maintaining USSK's Code of Ethical Conduct and its relevant Principles. This year the annual certification process additionally involves the employees of the subsidiary companies and the sales offices of U. S. Steel Kosice. The annual certification of the Code of Ethical Conduct and Principles 2014 ends October 31st, 2014.
Best projects now known for another two sections
The three best projects in the second quarter are now known for another two sections of U. S. Steel Kosice. In the primary production section first place was taken by the project named Improvement of Processes in Primary Production, second place by the project Reduction in Material Losses on EC Lines and the Preparation Line, and third place by the project Increasing Sinter Production. In the production support and innovation section first place went to the project aiming at expanding production of the canning grade product group, the second-best project concerned raising sinter production without increasing fuel consumption or the frequency of refractory component repairs, and third best was the PRECON project, control of gas scrubbing at Steel Shop No.1.
Kosice Peace Marathon this coming Sunday
The starting line-up for various running disciplines in this year's Kosice Peace Marathon on Sunday, October 5, will comprise a total of 10 200 competitors, with 3 000 people alone taking part in the U. S. Steel Family Run over a distance of 4 200 meters. To mark the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Kosice Marathon, a new book has been brought out with a wealth of photographs and statistics on 160 pages and an imprint of 2 000 copies. Among other things readers will find out how many times and when the KPM took the lead in the world rankings, what the best performances have been from individual countries, who has dozens of runs to their credit in our city, how many times the course has changed, and many other interesting facts.
