FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT 2017
Summer Sports Games
April and May are traditionally reserved for the annual football tournament of U. S. Steel Košice. This year it started with the game between Cokery - Ferroenergy on Monday, April 24, at the Technical University stadium in Košice. In this 56th tournament seven teams competed for the championship in two groups. Each team played the other teams in their group and the two top teams in each group qualified for the semifinals. The losing semifinalists then played for third place and the winners played in the final.
The Champions' title and the President's Cup were taken by the Management team, who won the final match against Transport 2:1. The bronze medals went to the Cokery team, who beat Finishing 1:0.
The best goalkeeper of the tournament was Rafael Cisneros (Transport) , the best defender was Peter Lochman (Finishing), the most versatile player was Matúš Horváth (Management) and the top scorers with 2 goals each were Ľubomír Beregsási (Finishing), Roland Demko (Ferroenergy), Lukáš Lindvai (Transport), Lukáš Mačo (Blast Furnaces), Milan Polča (Management) and Jakub Smorada (Cokery).
