FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT 2018
Summer Sports Games
May and June were reserved for the annual football tournament of U. S. Steel Košice. This year it started with the game between Blast Furnaces - Finishing on Friday, May 11, at the Technical University stadium in Košice. In this 57th tournament eight teams competed for the championship in two groups. Each team played the other teams in their group and the two top teams in each group qualified for the semifinals. The losing semifinalists then played for third place and the winners played in the final.
The Champions' title and the President's Cup were taken by the Ferroenergy team, who won the final match against Steel Shop after penalty shootout. The bronze medals went to the Transport team, who beat Management team.
The best goalkeeper of the tournament was Riemer Dávid (Ferroenergy) , the best defender was Maroša Vargu (Transport), the most versatile player was Peter Tulenko (Management) and the top scorers with 4 goals each were Jozef Kandráč (Steel Shop), Jozef Kerekeš (Steel Shop) and Hrabovecký Jakub (Management).
